Interest Areas

Tess sees adult clients and takes a warm and collaborative approach to therapy. She draws primarily on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to support clients, and adopts an evidenced-based, neurodiversity-affirming, and trauma-informed style. I aim to be inclusive in my practice, and welcome clients from diverse backgrounds including the LBGBTQIA+ community. Tess also enjoys “diving deep” and exploring underlying patterns and causes for current challenges, utilising frameworks informed by modalities such as schema therapy.

Tess has an interest in working with anxiety, phobias, and OCD. She utilises approaches such as Exposure and Response Prevention to support clients to address these challenges. Tess is also passionate about perinatal and women’s mental health, and enjoys working with presentations including perinatal anxiety and OCD, Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), and supporting clients to navigate the psychological impact of conditions such as endometriosis and PCOS. Tess is also knowledgeable in the area of complex perinatal mental health concerns, having completed her master’s thesis on Postpartum Psychosis.

In summary, Tess has an interest in supporting clients with the following:
•    Anxiety disorders (including generalised anxiety, social anxiety, specific phobias, health anxiety, and panic disorder)
•    Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
•    Perinatal mental health concerns
•    Women’s mental health concerns
•    Clients wishing to explore and unlearn engrained core beliefs and repeating patterns in their life.

Tess is also experienced in supporting clients with a range of other difficulties, such as people pleasing, body image concerns, sleep disorders, depression, emotional regulation, adjustment concerns, grief and loss, burnout, exploring neurodivergent identity, trauma, low self-esteem, and perfectionism.

Tess practices at Willow Tree Psychology and Wellbeing on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
