Investing in Your Mental Wellbeing
At Willow Tree Psychology and Wellbeing, we believe that prioritising your mental health is one of the most important investments you can make—for yourself, your relationships, and your future.
To help you access quality care, our session fees are set below the Australian Psychological Society's recommended rate of $318 per session. We are committed to offering high-standard support that remains accessible.
Session Fees
Our team includes psychologists with a range of experience, allowing you to choose the support that best fits your needs and budget.
Claiming Medicare Rebates
You may be eligible for a Medicare rebate when referred by a GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician under a Mental Health Treatment Plan.
To claim, your Mental Health Treatment Plan must be in place before your first appointment. If you’re unsure how to organise this, we’re happy to guide you through the process.
Please note: Medicare rebates are not available for sessions with Provisional Psychologists or for couple's therapy.
Medicare Rebates - Mental Health Treatment Plan Referrals
With a Mental Health Treatment Plan, you are entitled to a Medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions per year and up to 10 group sessions per year.
The full fee is to be paid in full at the end of the session by Bank Card, VISA, or Mastercard. Your Medicare rebate will be processed the same day on the HiCaps terminal and deposited instantaneously back onto a bank card. Please note, that Medicare only allows rebates to be credited back to a bank/debit card – we are unable to process the rebate to a credit card. Alternatively, the Medicare rebates can be processed online, and the rebate will be transferred to your nominated bank account that you have linked with Medicare. In most instances, the rebate appears in your bank account within 24 hours.
If you do not have your bank details listed with Medicare, it will be important to register your bank details so your rebate can be processed. If Medicare does not have your bank details, it can result in significant delays in obtaining your rebate.
To obtain a Mental Health Treatment Plan, you will be required to make an appointment with your treating general practitioner (GP), Psychiatrist, or Paediatrician, and request a Mental Health Treatment Plan and referral.
Medicare Rebates - Other
Other Medicare rebate pathways may be available via GP referrals under specific initiatives, including Eating Disorder Management Plans, Pregnancy Support Plans, Chronic Disease Management Plans, and programs such as Helping Children with Autism or Better Start for Children with a Disability.
After-Hours & Saturday Appointments
Although not routinely offered, any after-hours or Saturday appointments will attract a surcharge. Please contact us to discuss.
Group Programs
For more information regarding our Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) services, please contact us for further information.
Outside-of-Session Clinical Tasks
At times, your psychologist or clinician may complete work outside of scheduled sessions to support your care. This may include clinical documentation and reports; liaising with other service providers; or providing between-session contact (e.g., phone calls or emails). Please note that any out-of-session time is billed pro-rata at the clinician’s standard hourly rate.
Self-Funded Referrals
You do not require a referral to make an appointment to see our psychologists and clinicians. You are able to self-fund and self-refer. Self-funded referrals are not restricted to the number of sessions that can be accessed per year. The full fee is to be paid in full at the end of the session either by Bank Card, Visa or Mastercard.
Private Health Rebates
We have a HICAPS terminal at our practice and can process rebates provided by Private Health Providers for Psychology services. Private Health rebates will differ depending on your individual policy. It is recommended that you check with your Private Health Provider to discuss what rebates you may be eligible for. If you meet eligibility for a private health rebate, you will only need to pay the gap fee after the appointment. Alternatively, if you pay for your session in full, you will be provided with a paid invoice that you can submit to your Private Health Provider to claim your rebate.
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
We can provide psychological/therapy services provided by Clinical Psychologists, Registered Psychologists, and Provisional Psychologists to NDIS participants who are Self-Managed or Plan-Managed.
Fees for Self-Managed and Plan-Managed NDIS participants are charged in accordance with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits Guide.
We are unable to provide psychological services to participants with funds managed by NDIA.
Cancellations & Missed Appointments
Your scheduled appointment time has been put aside for your clinical care. If you need to cancel or reschedule, we kindly ask for at least 2 business days’ (48 hours) notice.
Please be aware that you are personally responsible for any cancellation fees, even if your sessions are funded by a third party (such as DVA). Unfortunately, Medicare rebates cannot be used to cover cancellation fees.
Other Funding Supports
Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) and Open Arms: Services are billed according to the relevant fee schedule.
External Agencies: Where agreed, sessions fees may be covered by external providers. Invoices not paid by the provider will be the client’s responsibility.
Please Note
At this time, we are unable to offer services related to WorkCover, insurance claims, psycholegal assessments, court reports, mediation, or Disability Support Pension (DSP) eligibility. However, we are happy to refer you to trusted professionals or services that specialise in these areas whenever possible.
All fees are required to be paid in full on the day of your appointment. Future appointments may be cancelled if there is an outstanding unpaid invoice.
To maintain a high quality of care and service for our clients, we are not a bulk billing practice.
