Hi! My name is Tanya. I’m a child psychologist who provides a warm, collaborative, and engaging therapeutic experience for children, adolescents, and their families. My approach is neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive, with a strong focus on creating a safe space where young people feel heard, understood, and supported.

I work collaboratively with each individual, drawing on their unique strengths, interests, and values to help them work toward their goals and develop a clearer understanding of themselves and their experiences. I tailor sessions to align with each child’s interests by adapting resources, activities, and examples to reflect what is meaningful and engaging for them, making therapy both enjoyable and easier to understand. I also incorporate play-based strategies throughout sessions to foster connection, emotional safety, and confidence.

My therapeutic approach is flexible and evidence-based, incorporating Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). I support young people to build practical coping skills, strengthen emotional awareness, improve relationships, and develop resilience in everyday life.

I have a particular interest in supporting children and adolescents experiencing:

  • Cultural identity and belonging challenges
  • Anxiety, stress, and difficulties with overwhelm or procrastination
  • Depression, low mood, and reduced motivation
  • Emotional regulation and coping difficulties
  • Social, behavioural, and interpersonal challenges
  • School, study, and academic-related difficulties

  • Perfectionism and people-pleasing tendencies
  • Relationship challenges and conflict resolution
  • Self-esteem and confidence concerns
  • Trauma and adverse life experiences
  • Sleep and bedtime difficulties
  • Exploration of sexual orientation and gender identity
  • Parenting support and strengthening parent-child relationships
