Interest Areas

My name is Mark Dass, and I am a registered psychologist with experience across private practice, community services, aged care and culturally diverse settings in Australia and internationally. These experiences have shaped my appreciation for each person’s individual story and reinforced my commitment to providing therapy that is warm, grounded and respectful.

I aim to offer a calm and supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood and safe to explore their concerns. I recognise that reaching out can feel daunting, so I take time to build a trusting therapeutic relationship and work collaboratively at a pace that feels comfortable.

Across my work with children, adolescents, adults and older persons, I have supported individuals experiencing a wide spectrum of emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties — from day-to-day stressors to more longstanding or complex concerns. My approach is evidence-based, yet flexible and person-centred. I focus on helping clients make sense of their experiences, develop meaningful insight and build practical strategies that support emotional wellbeing and everyday functioning.

My intention is always to meet each person with curiosity, compassion and a genuine willingness to understand their world, while offering guidance that is thoughtful, practical and tailored to their needs and values.

Therapeutic Approaches - I draw from evidence-based approaches including: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Exposure Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-based strategies, Reminiscence Therapy, Non-directive play-based approaches for children. I tailor therapy to each person’s needs using these modalities in a flexible and client-centred way.

Experience Across Presentations - I have experience supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma and complex trauma, grief and loss, sleep difficulties and challenges with emotional regulation. I have also supported clients with complex clinical presentations including bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, psychosis, substance use and addictions, and the effects of sexual abuse and interpersonal harm.

I also enjoy working with young people and families navigating behavioural concerns, study and work stress, identity development, cross-cultural experiences and life transitions. My goal is to work alongside clients to build understanding, confidence and practical skills that support a more grounded, meaningful and connected life.

Inclusivity & Cultural Sensitivity

I welcome clients from all backgrounds, including culturally diverse individuals and families, neurodivergent children and adults, and LGBTQIA+ communities.
