About the blog

Welcome to the very first edition of the Willow Tree Psychology and Wellbeing blog!

As a practice, we are always exploring new ways to connect with our clients and the broader community to share mental health information in a clear, easy-to-digest format. As part of our commitment to this, we are excited to launch our new blog in addition to our individual and group therapy services. The blog will share valuable information based on high-quality research to support the mental health and wellbeing of you and your loved ones.

We will be covering a wide range of topics, such as:

  • Understanding common mental health disorders such as anxiety and depression
  • Bite size resources for parents to understand and support their child’s mental health
  • Guides on different types of therapy (like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)
  • Myth busting common misconceptions around mental illnesses
  • Tips to boost mental health, overcome challenges and thrive
  • And much more!
  •

Our blog will help answer your burning questions, share the latest research in simple terms, and keep you in the loop with what’s happening at Willow Tree. We promise to keep our blogs short and sharp so that you can read it in the waiting room, quickly scroll through it before school pick up or even read it with your morning coffee!

We want to hear from you. If you have a particular topic you are interested in, please get in touch: info@willowtreepsychology.com.au and we will do our best to tailor blog posts to your curiosities and interests.

About Willow Tree Psychology and Wellbeing

At Willow Tree, we provide a non-judgmental space where individuals can openly discuss their concerns and work through challenges with the support of warm, empathetic, and highly skilled practitioners. Established in 2019 as a small one-room practice, Willow Tree has grown steadily to meet the increasing demand for clinical services and mental health support. Now in a newly developed 2-story building with 25 clinic rooms, we can support more clients than ever before!

Offering both individual and group therapy, our practice is grounded in the following:

  • Highly skilled practitioners committed to continuous development
  • Evidence based treatments to ensure interventions are effective
  • A welcoming environment for all, LGBTIQA+ inclusive, neurodiversity-affirming, disability-inclusive and culturally sensitive

A Bit About Your Author

My name is Esme, and I will be your primary author for the blog. I am one of the psychologists here at Willow Tree and I love working with individuals to help them make positive changes and overcome challenges. As well as my role as a psychologist, I also develop and deliver mental health and well-being programs to help support mental wellbeing in the community.

As a supportive and collaborative practice, I’m excited to have another psychologist, Kate, teaming up with me as an editor, adding her own thoughts and ideas along the way.

I’m so excited to connect with you through this blog and can’t wait to share insights, tips, and practical tools to support both your mental health. Stay tuned for upcoming posts, and please reach out if there’s a topic that you'd like to learn more about!
